Zim HMV Driver Legal Requirements

  • Class 2 Driver's licence

  • Defensive Driving certificate

    Validity: 4 years

  • PSV Retest certificate (Introduced in 2006)

    Validity: 5 years

  • Medical certificate

    Validity: 1 year

Delta F/Lift Driver Requirements

  • Elementary training for beginners

    2 weeks

  • Intermediate training for technical appreciation and safety training

    2 weeks

  • Advanced training on safety, procedures and execution

    2 weeks

Delta HMV Driver Requirements

  • HMV Trainability test

    For new drivers, not yet engaged.

    Once-off

  • Delta special conversion course to drive articulated vehicles

    For newly engaged Delta drivers only.

    Once-off 2 weeks

  • Delta Driver Development Course — DDDC (Refresher course)

    Includes transporters contracted 3rd party drivers. Refresher training done by Swift and Colbro also acceptable for 3rd party drivers.

  • HMV Driver on the job assessments

    Checking if drivers are complying with imparted safe and economic driving skills.

  • HMV conversion course for new vehicle models

  • LMV authority to drive company vehicles

  • LMV DDC (For safe driving)
